Haiti - Politic : Toward the end of undocumented...
Wilfrid Bertrand, Director General of the National Archives has indicated this week at a press conference at the Primature, that soon authorized agents will begin to be deployed in the Dominican Republic in the Turk and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas, Suriname, Brazil, Guyana, Martinique and Guadeloupe, to carry out the regularization of the situation of our compatriots without identity documents, living illegally in the country.

According to the Director General, following the decree of January 8, 2014 issued by the Government in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur", all Haitians who have never had birth certificates, can produce a "late declaration" from a civil status officer. He emphasized that the decree will help provide an identity document at all Haitians living both outside and in Haiti and that within 5 years, no more Haitian will paperless.
