Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere ! 18/02/2014 10:18:28
Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, participated in the "Hotel Occidental El Embajador" Dominican Republic, to the "International Seminar on the Management of Tourist Destinations in Cultural Heritage sites". Several tourism authorities representing destinations such as Argentina, Chile, the Republic of Korea, Ecuador, Israel, Japan, Peru and Uruguay, also take part in this event, which ends on Tuesday 18 February. Meeting with students of FIC in Cap-Haitien Monday, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North Ministry of Tourism, made a presentation at the Brothers of Christian Instruction in the country's second city, Cap-Haitien, on the role of Ministry of Tourism in Haiti the achievements of his Office in particular. It was also an opportunity for the Director to inform the dozens of students of Terminale of the school Institution (Kay Fre), of different tourist potential of the Northern Department and the Ministry's desire to regulate, to guide and develop the Destination Haiti. Speaking of the destination Jacmel, she mentioned several institutions that contribute at their level to the success of the destination: the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA), Electricity of Haiti (EDH), the Ministry of Public Health and Population, the Ministry of Justice and public Safety, the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN) the City of New Orleans and the Community of Cap-Excellence (Guadeloupe). Craft Market in Cap Haitien Friday, as part of the operationalization of the Craft Market of Cap Haitien, freshly rebuilt by Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North, had a meeting with the Director of the National Airports Authority, the Deputy Mayor of Cap-Haitien, Guy Cher-Enfant, and the Market Committee on the possibility to make functional soon the Tourist Market before proceeding with a field visit with the Head of the Chinese firm (Welling Hong Yuan Construction). « Equitarian Initiative » care horses of the Citadelle Last Tuesday Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North Ministry of Tourism met with a group of veterinarians from the United States "Equitarian Initiative", in order to see how these health professionals may contribute to animal-care of horses that ensure the touristic-path Choiseuil-Citadelle. The next day, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne accompanied by veterinarianswent to Choiseuil (before getting to the Citadelle) for medical intervention on horses.
