Thursday, President Michel Martelly at the head of a large delegation composed, among others of, Pierre Richard Casimir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance and Acting Minister of Trade and Industry, Gregory Mayard-Paul, his Special Counsellor, Grégory Mevs, Co-Chair of the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development and Investment (CCPDEI) of Deputy Stevenson Jacques Thimoléon, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies and some members of the private business sector, arrived in Paris Thursday, Feb. 20, as part of his official visit to France.

After the welcoming ceremony Republican, which was reserved to him to the Hôtel National des Invalides, the Head of State visited the French Parliament, where he met with Jean-Pierre Bel, President of the Senate around a set of points such as the organization of the forthcoming elections, the rebuilding of Haiti, the need for a large French presence in Haiti especially in the business sector.

Thereafter, the President Martelly, accompanied by members of the Haitian private sector, met Pierre Gattaz, the President of the Movement of Companies of France (MEDEF), in order to encourage French entrepreneurs to go invest in Haiti. He also met with Victorin Lurel, the Minister for Overseas French Territories, particularly around the candidacy of Haiti to the Organization of the Francophonie Summit in 2016.

In the early evening, the Chief of the Haitian state, in a very warm atmosphere is addressed to the House of Latin America, the Haitian community living in Paris. The President Martelly took advantage of this moment of communion with compatriots to relate the many efforts already made by his administration and reiterated its determination to continue to work towards the improvement of living conditions of the Haitian people.
