Haiti - Agriculture : 93 new veterinary agents graduated

93 veterinary agents, rained by officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cuban veterinarians have recently graduated. They reinforce the inadequate staffing of 200 veterinary agents, already working in the department of the West.
These new agents, which are not veterinary doctors, said the Ministry of Agriculture, will accompany the peasants farmers in the 180 communal sections of the Department of the West. Their mission will be to help strengthen livestock ensuring among other things: epidemiological surveillance, treatment of sick animals, training of farmers to animal diseases and the promotion of public hygiene in different slaughterhouses.
