Haiti - Social : Participation of people with disabilities in the National Carnival
During the National Carnival which took place in Gonaives, these carnival festivities were also three days of animation and romping for 40 people with disabilities, who paraded proudly, preceded by the band of the National Palace.

Joy, gaiety, laughter, on the faces of disabled participants, selected solely on the basis of their willingness to take part in the parade, during which some have done stunts on crutches or wheelchairs.

If this group of people, could not represent iconic figures in the history or societyby disguises as is the carnival tradition, the awareness for the integration of disabled people has been at the rendezvous, thanks to the messages on the T-shirts they wore and slogans they launched throughout the runs to the effect that "people with disabilities are part integral part of society, inclusion is a right for all."

The participation of these people at the Carnival in 2014, was made possible thanks to the dedication of the Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the personal involvement of Gerald Oriol Jr ., the Secretary of State of BSEIPH, who also participated in the parade.
