Haiti - Cycling : First Edition of the «Saul Armazan» race 15/03/2014 15:46:22
In a press note, the Haitian Federation of Cycling (FHC) announces the First Edition of the cycling competition "Saul Amasan" (in honor of the young cyclist Amasan Junior Faryl, who died in a road accident, 23 January) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10393-haiti-sports-young-cyclist-faryl-junior-amazan-passed-away.html will be held Sunday, March 16, 2014. About 50 riders from different associations in the country, are expected on the start line at 9:00 am for a circuit of 104 km round trip between Bon repos and Montrouis. This First Edition, will be repeated annually to remember Amasan Faryl Junior, one of the best cyclists of his generation. The Technical Commission of the FHC will take advantage of this race to assess the level of the national preselection in preparation for upcoming Games Central America and the Caribbean (ODECABE) to be held in Veracruz (Mexico), in November, said the former international runner, Kénelt Leveille, President. Upon completion of this course, the top 16 will be selected to form the national team. Among the other activities of the FHC in 2014 Kénelt Leveille mentioned the participation of U-23 national team at the Grand Prix des Nations, in Canada, and the Tour of Haiti (circuit Jérémie-Cap-Haïtien) in August, bringing together Haitian local cyclists, from the Diaspora and abroad. About the great projects of the Federation, the Executive Committee of the FHC, in agreement with the National Technical Commission, working to develop a process for the detection of talent across the 10 departments. In addition, a delegation from the FHC will meet in the coming days, members of the International Cycling Union (UCI) to discuss a long dreamed project, that of providing Haiti with a velodrome with international standards.
