Haiti - Humanitarian : The Dumont d'Urville delivered 4 tons of humanitarian aid in Haiti 20/03/2014 11:17:57
4 tons of humanitarian aid [medical equipment, school books, clothes, shoes and toys] collected by the Emergency Caribbean, Martinique Red Cross and the Kiwanis Club of Schoelcher associations, loaded on March 11 at the Naval Base of Fort-de-France, were handed over to the Embassy of France in Haiti, for the benefit of hospitals, maternity hospitals, health centers, schools, orphanages, libraries and charities, including "The Salesian Fathers" and "The Little Sisters of charity". On Wednesday, a tour was organized for thirty students of French Lycée and a few journalists. This Thursday, "Dumont d'Urville" will conduct a reconnaissance of the beach of Grand Goâve (Region des Palmes) for a possible future "beaching" before leaving Haiti in the evening.
