Yesterday evening, at 9:11 p.m. and 40 seconds a quake of moderate intensity 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred, ts epicenter was located offshore at a depth of 6.2km, to 18.648°N 73.603°W, or 16km north-west of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes, 51km North West of Les Cayes, 54 km east of Jérémie, 58km West Northwest of Miragoâne and 134km west of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

According to our information this quake was felt up to Camp Perrin, Torbeck and slightly in Les Cayes.

This quake was reported by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and in the metropolitan area on the seismograph of Catts Pressoir College.

No damage or injuries have been reported so far by the authorities.
