Haiti - Politic : President Martelly received members of Congress 17/04/2014 10:31:16 This friendly meeting, which aimed to strengthen and consolidate relations between Haiti and the United States, was an opportunity for the Head of State to emphasize on the considerable efforts of his administration to put the country on the path of development, despite the limited resources available. In addition, the President Martelly discussed the issue of inter-Haitian political dialogue, which resulted in the signing of the El Rancho Agreement and the electoral process. The Head of State expressed its unequivocal commitment to hold elections this year. He also reaffirmed his faith in the pursuit of dialogue to establish a climate of trust that can reassure politicians. In addition, the President of the Republic, said he was determined to fight for the political and institutional stability and strengthen the rule of law.
