Haiti - Economy : Martelly invited Taiwanese entrepreneurs to settle in Haiti

Tuesday, as part of his state visit to Taiwan (Republic of China), President Michel Martelly accompanied by his wife Sophia, Chancellor Duly Brutus, Laleau Wilson, Minister of Trade and Industry, Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Ms. Norma Powell, Director of Investment Facilitation Center (CFI), Didier Fils-Aimé, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH), Carl Braun CEO of Unibank and Édouard Baussan, Vice-President of the Board of Unibank, Dr. Réginald Boulos, CEO of NH El Rancho and Mr. Hervé Denis, CEO of Visa Lodge, took part at a breakfast briefing with Taiwanese entrepreneurs on investment opportunities in Haiti and invited them once again to come invest in Haiti.

Didier Fils-Aimé, and Ms. Norma Powell, designated to present the reasons that make Haiti one of the business destination of choice, have, in their presentation, presented the different growth sectors in Haiti as well as tax benefits and the privileged position of the country compared to the world's largest market that represents the United States of America. Highlighting the many efforts of the Martelly Administration to ensure a secure and stable environment conducive to business, to the rhythm of the accelerated reconstruction of the country, the two speakers have reached out to Taiwanese businessmen.

Wilson Laleau, abundant in the same direction recalled Haiti's strategic position compared to the Panama Canal where handling almost 33% of the trade area.

At the end of the lunch that has attracted much interest from the Taiwanese businessmen, the Head of State and the Haitian delegation were invited to visit the local company ASUS, a leading player in the market IT.
