Haiti - Politic : Zero tolerance for traffickers

Thursday, as part of a visit to the Office for the Fight against Illicit Narcotics Trafficking (BLTS), Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe reiterated its unwavering support to the National Police of Haiti (PNH), especially to the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), as well as anti-drug brigade.

The head of government took the opportunity to present his compliments to the various units of the PNH who work tirelessly in order to reduce large and petty criminality in Haiti. Aware that the National Police can be even more effective in the fight against drug traffickers and bandits, the Prime Minister will provide it with 70 new all-terrain vehicles, to strengthen its response capacity.

"The traffickers of illegal drugs and kidnappers, will have no respite. They will no longer able to circulate or operate freely in the country," said with great firmness the Prime Minister.

Godson Orélus, the Director General of the PNH, Inspector General Normil Rameau, in charge of DCPJ have in turn thanked the Martelly administration's support, while welcoming the historic visit of Prime Minister to BLTS. The two men renewed the unequivocal commitment du High General Staff of the PNH to continue to protect and serve the public.

Note that this visit coincides with the seizure of a large consignment of narcotics and the arrest of several individuals of foreign nationality.
