The Haitian women football team arrived in Viçosa, Wednesday 1st September in preparation for the final phase of qualifiers for the 2011 World Cup to be played in Cancun, Mexico from October 26 to November 8, 2010. The Haitian men football selection, should arrive on September 13.

The Haitian women's football team will benefit from technical and scientific support of professional football at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and facilities of the Department of Physical Education (DES). The start of physical training began in the morning and was assessed as positive by the coach of the team that has emphasized the joy of the players from the first formation in Haiti. Augusto Oliveira will coach the women's team in Brazil.

The arrival of the football team was made possible by a partnership between the UFV, Viva Rio (NGO), the ministry of Defense, the Navy and the Brazilian Federation of football. The agreement, concluded on July 30th also envisages the preparation of the male team for the World cup (Qualifications 2014).
