Haiti - Elections : Prime Minister Lamothe encourages the diaspora to vote in the next election

On Thursday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, met with a large delegation from the Haitian diaspora https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11245-haiti-elections-the-diaspora-in-favor-of-the-application-of-article-9-of-the-el-rancho-agreement.html and wished fervently that our compatriots living in a foreign land, to be equipped with the National Identification Card (CIN) to allow them to vote freely in the next election.

Solemnly recalling that the right to vote of the diaspora is an acquired, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Administration Martelly and his team with the Haitian diaspora, and encourage them to become more involved in the political life of the country, starting by obtaining the right to vote through embassies and consulates Haitians "I see no difference between a compatriot living in the country, and another living outside. Moreover, if the diaspora is also actively involved in the local economy, I do not understand why she would not enjoy a real integration in the country's sustainable development."

In addition, the Head of Government also argued in favor of the promotion and distribution of local products at the level of Haitian diaspora, such as : Konparèt, Dous makòs, peanuts, fruits bio from Haiti...

For his part, François Guillaume II, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), noted that "this historic meeting took place in a context and a dynamism of integration of the diaspora to a perfect time where there is a government willingness in terms of support, to involve diaspora to everything that is done in the country."

A census and identification project of more than a million Haitians living abroad was introduced by Dr. Dorcely, President of the international organization "Ban m dwa m".

The Deputy Danton Léger of the minority opposition block "Parliamentarians for Recovery Institutional" (PRI), who accompanied the delegation, Nelson Voltaire of "Radyo Piman Bouk" based in Miami, and Dr. Dorcely, unanimously recognized the great interest whose the President Martelly and Prime Minister Lamothe have always demonstrated, for the effective integration of the diaspora in the process of modernization of political life and the Haitian government.
