Haiti - Security : Signature of an agreement to strengthen the Military Engineering
Thursday at the National Palace, Pierre-Duly Brutus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Celso Amorim the Brazilian Minister of Defence signed an agreement on the implementation of the institutional strengthening project in Military Engineering.

Pursuant to Basic Agreement on technical and scientific cooperation between Haiti and Brazil, this specific agreement aims to:

- To guide and support the institutional foundation of the body of military engineers in Haiti;
- To guide and support the training of upper level executives and middle to integrate the body of military engineers in Haiti;
- To guide and support the purchase of equipment for the body of military engineers in Haiti.

These activities will contribute to the implementation of the commitments made ​​by President Martelly during his electoral campaign and included in the statement of General Policy of the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe.

The implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities under this agreement will be carried out jointly by the Brazilian Army and the Haitian Ministry of Defence.
