Haiti - Jacmel : The Paradise of burglars 07/09/2010 12:12:00
On the night of Sunday 5 to Monday, September 6, 2010, the pharmacy "Saint Cyr et Market", located a few meters from the Police station of Jacmel on Barranquilla Avenue, was robbed by bandits who emptied the cash register. David Presne Jr., a son of the head of the pharmacy indicated that at least one of the criminals might have injured by breaking the window protected by an iron curtain that individuals have managed to force it. The person in charge of the pharmacy "Saint Cyr et Market" waited until 11:00am before open the store to the public, there was no police intervention or report of a judge on the burglary" he regretted. For his part, Serge Pierre-Louis, the head of "CCNet Cyber Café", recently sacked twice by unidentified individuals, denounced the inaction of police in Jacmel. "It is inconceivable that even the nearby police station, bandits can operate in peace." Serge Pierre-Louis has pointed the finger of Sud'Est authorities, including the Mayor of Jacmel, parliamentarians and delegates who remain passive in the face to the phenomenon of insecurity intensifies day by day in the city. "There exists indeed a police patrol every evening, but they do nothing but sleep in their car", he said. It also should be stressed, another burglary in the night from Saturday 4 to Sunday, September 5, where unidentified persons looted a store of clothing and cosmetics on the Street Massillon Coicou in Jacmel.
