Haiti - Tourism : Tourism Development Plan of Anse-à-Veau
Saturday, as part of the 8th output of "Gouvènman an Lakay ou" program, the government unveiled its Tourism Development Plan of Anse-à-Veau which has imposing natural sites, Saut du Baril, the cave "Nan Rezèv"... and a historical heritage just waiting to be valued, among other the Forts Jean Jacques Acao, Deboire and Brodry and the Brodry and Saint-Joachim...

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe visited in particular the ruins of the residence of former President Sudre Dartiguenave, Sainte-Anne church and a monument in honor of Etienne Gerin, signatory of the Act of Independence.



At the end of this 8th edition, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industry has announced the development of Saut du Baril, one of beautiful natural site of Anse-à-Veau, mythical place of pilgrimage, which receives hundreds of thousands of visitors each year (according to local authorities).

The project will be implemented and executed by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Institute for Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN), the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE), includes: 6 km road access to the site, a wooden bridge, pedestrian stone steps, the creation of 15 tourist Cottages of traditional architecture, a toilet block, a space for picnics and kiosks and exhibition of handicrafts. Training sessions will be organized for local artisans and 15 young people will be trained as tour guide.



An information office for tourists on the history of the churches of Saint-Yves and Saint Joachim and 6 sales kiosks of liturgical products will be built as part of the tourism plan for the town of Anse-à-Veau .

In Arnaud, an agro-tourism circuit will be developed for the revaluation of certain attractions of the Department include: distilleries, the traditional Cane mills and the cave "Nan Rezèv" in the town of Morcou.
