Haiti - Culture : Slam Show Urban Symphony

After the success of his show 21 avenue Slam, last month, on the stage of the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL), the Collective Hors-Jeu, invites you to its next slam show Urban Symphony.

Urban Symphony want to be above all an advocacy of

slam movement in Haiti. Of the 20 texts contained therein, almost a quarter are subject to a work of abstraction, through which artists express themselves on the art they practice. This show is also a way to make culture accessible, to put some grandiloquent or obsolete words within reach of mouth and provide a work of harmony and poetry.

Urban Symphon, is a proof that the sweetness is still possible in the voice of a urban resident surrounded by concrete, cars, great businesses and pollution. An essential element of this creation is the choice of texts, large format of several French and English slammers.

At this show, will be added streaming videos of stage performances and documentaries on the slam. The music and lyrics reflect, despite the search of universality, the Haitian soil. Present this show to a French and Creole speaking community responds to a need for sharing. The Collective Hors-Jeu has something to say to Haitians, but also the world.

The Collective Hors-Jeu will be represented by three slammers and founding members : Rolaphton Mercure, aka "Rome", Jean Samuel André aka "Jasmuel" and Pinas Alcera, aka "P-Nash" as well as Garendy Charite, (singer), Allen Juste, (accordion) and Makerson François Junior (dancer).
