Haiti - Security : The MPP asks farmers to sharpen their machete and to attack...
Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) is very concerned by recent calls for hatred and violence of a leader of Mouvman Peyizan Papaya (MPP), which asked farmers to sharpen their machete and to attack government officials.

"Such statements are contrary to republican values and democratic ideals pursued by all civilized people. Today, incitement to hatred has absolutely no place in Haitian society.

The Ministry of Agriculture wishes to express its solidarity with all those who have been affected to one degree or another by this kind of peech that should belong to the past.

MARNDR asks farmers to keep their calm, inviting them to believe that the work undertaken by the Government, aims to strengthen national agricultural production, which is one of the highest priorities."
