Haiti - Tourism : Strategic discussions on the binational tourism
As part of "V Cumbre Prensa y Turismo" where Haiti was the guest of honor https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11379-haiti-tourism-the-punta-cana-group-will-invest-$200m-in-haiti.html , Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) met Lorenzo Sancassani, the Provincial Director of the Ministry of Tourism in Puerto Plata.

his working session aimed to develop strategies to strengthen regional tourism, making it more comprehensive and attractive for the visitors of the island shared by the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The idea is to maintain the integration of tourism in the region, in order to capitalize on the strengths that have both countries.

Following this meeting, the Minister Villedrouin explained that as part of these strategies, it was discussed the creation of a tourist trade package and of advice, which will conclude with the implementation of a joint program benefiting both countries. For his part, Lorenzo Sancassani stressed that the Dominican Republic and Haiti have much to offer the world in terms of tourism, because each country has special attractions, that pleased to both domestic tourists and international.

Francisco Javier García, Minister of Tourism Dominican instructed Lorenzo Sancassani to continue discussions with the Minister of Tourism of Haiti, in the interest of new agreements to strengthen ties between the two countries in the development of the tourism sector. The two countries agreed that the discussions will continue in Haiti shortly in an enlarged meeting.
