Haiti - Education : High Level Seminar on Leadership and Innovation (MIT)
Thursday at El Rancho hotel, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, proceeded at the opening of high-level seminar for the benefit of members of his Government on the Leadership and Innovation, seminar organized by eminent teachers from the prestigious Sloan School of Management of the assachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This training, an initiative of the Government and MIT, focuses on two components:

The first consists in provide our educational system of high quality digital technologies and teaching resources in Creole for science education.

The second component aims the modernization, the institutional strengthening and the acceleration of development of our country. They are priority areas to whom the Government Lamothe works according to the vision of the President of the Republic.

Prime Minister Lamothe said favor the importance of leadership and technology, which are "transformation strategies, of development of our institutions to make our executives more effective, efficient and dynamic [...] the Government put much emphasis on leadership and technology combination, a fundamental strategy to succeed in our vision to make Haiti an emerging country by 2030."

This seminar follows the travel of the Prime Minister Lamothe in April 2013 in Boston, at the invitation of MIT. On this trip, the Government had signed with MIT, a memorandum of understanding on the use of Creole, at the secondary and superior levels, in the teaching of science, engineering, technology and mathematics. The agreement also covers the training of teachers and the granting of scholarships to Haitian students and professionals.
