Haiti - Diplomacy : 203 years of independence of Venezuela

Saturday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe participated in the commemoration of 203 years of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela in the residence of the Ambassador of Venezuela, Pedro Antonio Canino Gonzalez.

Laurent Lamothe sent on behalf of the Government and people of Haiti, his wishes for health, peace and prosperity to the people and President of the Bolivarian Republic and wished the strengthening of trade links, sharing, friendship and solidarity between the two peoples, which have historically united to liberate Latin America from the yoke of slavery and colonization

This particular solidarity between Haiti and Venezuela has always persist today and the two countries are now bound by the Agreement on cooperation in the field of electrical energy and Petrocaribe agreement, which allows our country to supply in petroleum products on favorable terms https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10491-haiti-economy-haiti-owes-$1-276-929-35932-to-venezuela.html

Beyond these two major agreements, Haiti and Venezuela have other partnerships in strategic sectors such as social housing, agriculture and infrastructure. These are priorities among the major development projets to whom works Lamothe government, according to the vision and commitment of the President of the Republic Michel Joseph Martelly. Also, Prime Minister Lamothe wants the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of fisheries, tourism, growth sectors and development for our country.

During this commemorative evening, the head of government hailed the memory of the late President Hugo Chavez, for his unfailing charity towards Haiti and its contribution to the building of the new Venezuelan society.

Finally, the Prime Minister reiterated his determination, and that of President Martelly, to make every effort to further strengthen and boost the relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Haiti and Venezuela and confirmed that Haiti will continue to support all initiatives of the Venezuelan government, o deepen integration and cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean and to implement the Petrocaribe Economic Zone https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9393-haiti-politic-economic-zone-petrocaribe.html
