Haiti - FLASH : Public Notice against fraud at the borders
In a note the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) organ of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), informs the general public and users of airports, ports and official border crossing points of the Republic in particular, that "Immigration Agents have the function of verification of travel documents of a passenger under international instruments ratified by Haiti.

Accordingly, DIE remind everyone that no Immigration officials, under penalty of being pursued by the law, is authorized or entitled to receive money, from a passenger and/or a third party against service rendered in the exercise of its functions.

DIE invites users of the border posts, to consult an agent of the Immigration and optionally a supervisor (all in uniform) and take advantage of the assistance they need without risk of scam.



Administration Martelly-Lamothe, is committed to fighting against corruption and to provide the public with quality services. As such, the MICT, continues to intensify its fight against document fraud and fraud at the level of border crossing points. The Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) will fulfill this obligation for the benefit of the entire population."
