Haiti - Diaspora : 5 Haitian humorists at Just For Laughs Festival of Montreal

Justin Viard, the Consul General of Haiti in Montreal, invites the Haitian community of Quebec to participate in the Fundraising Evening "HAHAHAÏTI", Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 8:00 p.m., at Théâtre Maisonneuve of Montreal, Place des Arts.

This event will be held with the participation of the Quebec Academician of Haitian origin, Dany Laferrière, spokesperson and member of the Executive Committee of the project, and Quebec artists : Rachid Badouri, Laurent Paquin, François Bellefeuille, Boucard Diouf, Eddy King, Phil Roy and Mehdi Bousaidan. A popular lineup and because this is the second time that Haiti will participate in the great festival Just for Laughs of Montreal with 5 humorists handpicked during auditing sessions conducted in the country by a delegation of the National School of humor of Montreal : Jacques Junior Bourjolly, aka "Kako", Ricardo Lefèvre, Gaëlle Bien-Aimé, James Fleurissaint aka "Rikiki" and Moise Toussaint, aka "M.Sache tout".

Note that this Fundraising Evening is designed for institutional strengthening in Haiti, through the transformation of talent in professions, in order to allow our young people to work and earn a living with dignity. This necessary institution, that will be the National School of humor of Haiti, will owe its existence to a partnership between the National School of humor of Montreal, the Ministry of Culture of Haiti, Just For Laughs Festival and the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal.

Proceeds from the show will fund the training of Haitian humorists, professional, semi-professional and emerging in Port-au-Prince in 2015.
