Haiti - Elections : The Election Unit of MINUSTAH in action

Vincenzo Pugliese, the spokesman of the Mission of the United Nations for the Stabilization of Haiti (Minustah), declared on September 9, that the U.N. mission continues to bring its logistical support for the Provisional electoral counsel (CEP) to enable him to respect the term of November 28th.

"The Election Unit of MINUSTAH continues to transport by helicopter to Port-au-Prince, forms that were completed in the Operation Centers and Verification (Centres d’Opération et de Vérification COV) of the North, Northeast, Northern West and Central departments [...] these forms must be submitted to central tabulation (centre de tabulation) for the treatment of electoral data" said the spokesman who took the opportunity to recall that the COV allow voters to check if their names are on the electoral list of the poll closest to home. For those who have been displaced after January 12, COV allow them to register at the polling station nearest to their residences.
