Haiti - Politic : Towards the establishment of a National Plan for Decent Work 25/07/2014 11:25:54
A delegation of the International Labour Office (ILO), composed of Levaggi Virgilio, Director for Central America, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Julien Magnat, Coordinator of ILO for Haiti and Ana Catalina Ramirez, Point Focal for Haiti at the ILO in San Jose, had a working meeting this week with Charles Jean Jacques, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST). MAST projects with the ILO that are running have been reviewed and the perspective of a five-year National Plan on Decent Work with a particular emphasis on social protection. Minister Jean Jacques has underlined the priorities of his Ministry, which proposes to continue work on the revision of the Labour Code, to establish a National Plan on Decent Work for an agreement with the various partners (union, Employers, State). It was also discussed inter alia : of GSD, technological tool allowing to take into account the piecework and determine the cost of production in order to boost production and competitiveness; of the opportunities for bilateral and multilateral meetings between MAST and other countries of the region; of vocational training programs for young people across the country and Social Protection. Virgilio Levaggi said he appreciate the dynamism of the Minister for the pulse, it is being given to the implementation of the Government's social policy. HL/ HaitiLibre
