Haiti - Politic : Tour of President Martelly in Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas

After having opened the Carnival of Flowers, President Michel Martelly met with revelers throughout the course, Sunday before leaving the party and the country, to Trinidad and Tobago to participate this Monday, CARICOM-Japan Summit, held in Port of Spain. Accompanied, among other by Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry, the Head of State will hold bilateral meetings respectively with Trinidadian Prime Minister, Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.

Tuesday, President Martelly will visit the Bahamas where he will meet Prime Minister Perry Christie to strengthen, harmonize and energize relations between Haiti and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. At this meeting the two men should sign 4 agreements: A framework agreement for cooperation; an agreement on on scientific and technical cooperation on the capacity building of port institutions; an agreement of commercial and technical cooperation in the field of quality control of agricultural products and export fisheries. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11643-haiti-economy-towards-the-commercialization-of-haitian-agricultural-products-in-bahamas.html and an agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.
