Friday, Chancellor Duly Brutus signed with the Swiss Ambassador accredited in Haiti, Edita Vokral a cooperation framework agreement Haitiano-Swiss.

Ambassador of Switzerland announced that a a budget of nearly U.S. $ 80 million is available for Haiti [2014-2017] noting that "[...] Switzerland has adopted a strategy of cooperation with Haiti with the overall objective of contributing to the improvement of living conditions of the poorest people and the strengthening of the rule of law by strengthening institutions."

For the Minister of Foreign Affair, Duty Brutus "The signing of this agreement marks an important turning point in relations between Haiti and Switzerland [...] Through this agreement, the Swiss Federal Council clearly expressed its willingness to continue to assist the Government Haiti in its efforts to improve the living conditions of the Haitian people and lay the foundations for the development of the Nation."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide overall coordination of the implementation of this Agreement and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, represented by the Swiss Embassy in Haiti, will be responsible for the implementation of the Agreement and specific projects that will result.
