Haiti - Politic : Blocking of election, the opposition rejects the accusations
In a joint statement, Ayisyen pour Ayiti, Fanmi Lavalas, Fusion, Inite, Kontrapepla and the MOPOD, denounced a media campaign against the parties and groupings of opposition parties and against the 6 Senators members of G6 and reject the accusations of the Executive, under which the opposition would be responsible for blocking of elections...

Statement :
"Parties and groupings of political parties of the democratic opposition and of the Patriotic Resistance clarify for everyone that the political battle today is between those who are fighting for democracy and national sovereignty to those who are at the service of a fraction of the international community and stubbornly refuse to respect the constitution and carry at term the elections. It is not normal that one wants make accept by the Democrats a regalian right for the President of the Republic to override the prescribed the constitution and the law to establish a Provisional Electoral Council that he wants to maintain control.

In recent days, the regime launched a virulent media campaign against the parties and groupings of opposition parties and against the group of six (6) Senators who have all chosen to come to the defense of democracy, fighting for respect the rule of law and to require the holding of fair elections in the country.

All Democrats of good faith will understand that power has initiated its propaganda machine and of misinformation to try to make orget that the Executive, through its systematic refusal for almost four (4) years to hold democratic elections and sovereign, is the one and solely responsible for the current situation.

Parties and groupings of political parties of the democratic opposition and the Patriotic Resistance call the Haitians to remain vigilant and above all not to fall into the trap of power that wants to turn the tables by accusing these parties and groupings of political parties of the democratic opposition as well as parliamentarians leading to their side the struggle for democracy, to want to block the electoral process or to be afraid to participate in elections.

They condemn the remarks of President Martelly and spokesman for Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, who, instead of seeking a sustainable response to the Haitian political crisis, prefer to attack them and to the parliamentarians that accompanying them by insulting them. The opposition members who are working to build democracy and ensure political stability can not be characterized as kamikaze by the same people who are doing everything to destroy our institutions. Moreover, the fact to consider asking the leader of the opposition of the Bahamas to come to teach a lesson to members of the Haitian opposition reflects a clear lack of political culture. A head of state should be able to make the difference between the Anglo-American two-party system and the model of functioning of political parties in Haiti.

Parties and groupings of political parties of the democratic opposition and the Patriotic Resistance reaffirm their support for the action of six (6) members of parliament and their willingness to :

1. participate in free, transparent elections, inclusive and sovereign, organized by a credible and independent Provisional Electoral Council, based on article 289 of the constitution.

2. continue discussions and consultations in order to present to the nation a viable and sustainable solution to the crisis.

3. achieve unity of Haitians around a national political project.
