Haiti - Politic : Launch of Project of Land Security in Rural Areas (PSFMR)
Monday, Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, went to Camp Perrin, where he attended the launch of the Project of Land Security in Rural Areas (PSFMR), in the presence of the departmental representative, the Executive Secretary of the Interministerial Committee Spatial Planning (CIAT), the fund management of the National Office of Cadastre (ONACA), the representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Karl Jean Louis Director of Cabinet, representing the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe.

The PSFMR, laying the foundations for sustainable social peace, aims the rehabilitation of farm schools, the promotion of the sharing of arable areas, the emergence and development of agribusiness, increasing the agricultural production in the country, to ensure continued economic progress. It also addresses the issues of security of title and is a tool to encourage investment, the creation of stable jobs and incomes.

The first experimental phase of this ambitious project will be executed in 8 towns, including 3 in the South (Chantal, Maniche and Camp Perrin). Investigators and technicians surveyors trained by the international firm "Chimble" will be deployed on the ground to collect information for drawing geospatial sketch, thanks to details of GPS points of targeted areas. This will be a digital database of property titles, managed by ONACA.

This project aims to: Clean the banks and watersheds, the respect for the environment, identification of goods throughout the national territory, the modernization of the national cadastral system and standardization of titles.

Coordinated by CIAT and financed by the IDB, PSFMR, is part of the implementation of an integrated public policy of planning, modernization and efficiency of land registration, of agricultural recovery of the Lamothe Government, in accordance with campaign promises of President Martelly.
