Haiti - Economy : 22 Haitian fashion designers on mission to Mexico

At the initiative of the Haitian Centre of Support and Promotion of Enterprises (CHAPE), under the 3rd component of MODAYITI program and in preparation for the third edition of Haiti Fashion Week (October 30 to November 2, 2014) 22 Haitian designers whose the very known Maelle David, Michel Chataigne and Phelicia Dell, begin this Monday a commercial and cultural exploration mission to Mexico that will continue until 30 August to seek new economic opportunities for the industry of fashion in Haiti.

This mission of CHAPE, is held under the patronage of the Embassy of Mexico in Haiti and will have the support of the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico in partnership with the Haitian Network of Designers (HAND).

According to the Mexican Ambassador in Haiti, Jose Luis Avarado during their stay "the various activities that will be held in Mexico will allow entrepreneurs in the industry of the Haitian mode, to meet with the Mexican private sector, traders, exporters and Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of the world of fashion to define the strategic broad line for access to Mexican markets."
