job creation in the Southern Department.

Were present at the meeting, Ms. Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Michel Présumé, the Secretary of State for Planning, Ronald Décembre, the Secretary of State for Tax Reform, Philippe Cinéas, the Secretary of State for public Works, Mr Giovanni Dorélien, the Director General of MPCE and responsible of the construction firm Estrella, among others...

According to the Secretary of State for Public Works, by September 3, the firm in charge of the construction of the International Airport of Les Cayes will begin the implementation process of the runway https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7774-haiti-economy-first-stone-of-the-international-airport-of-les-cayes.html More than 282 million gourdes have already been disbursed to compensate the expropriated of the zone of the airport. This major project of over US $ 29 million, will be very beneficial for the country and for the deep south in particular.

During the meeting, several projects were presented by the Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, such as the construction of the port of Les Cayes, of Les Cayes Airport and that of the île-à-Vache, of the roads of île-à-Vache and that of Cayes-Jérémie.

With respect to the construction of the main road of the island which is 17km, it will cost US$ 10 million to the Treasury, and the construction works are being executed.

Following the evaluation of these infrastructure projects in the South, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the progress of these projects and renews its commitment to work, so that by 2030, Haiti could be an emerging country in the region .

Also on Thursday, a delegation of citizens from the town of Hinche, led by deputy Gilbert Augustin, met the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, also Minister of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), the premises of the Ministry, in order to thank the Head of Government for all the major work done in the Centre department, particularly in the town of Hinche. Among these works: the Administrative Complex of Hinche, the urban renewal of 15 km of road, the construction of lycée Charlemagne Peralte, among others, and to solve several pressing issues, including the road construction and electricity supply.
