Haiti - Justice : Towards the implementation of the National Plan for Human Rights
As part of a series of consultation initiated by the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDP) to provide the country with a National Plan for Human Rights, the Committee recently met with representatives of Civil Society organizations. The meeting, chaired by Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights and the Fight Against Extreme Poverty was held at the Administrative Complex of Jérémie in the presence of the Departmental Delegate of Grand Anse, Wiener Norman and Deputy Delegate of Jérémie, Schiller Torchon.

In his capacity as Coordinator of the CIDP, the Minister Auguste, presented to the human rights activists a first draft of the National Plan of Human Rights in order to gather feedback and suggestions to finalize this document.

According to the Minister Augustus, the issue of human rights is a priority not only for the government but also for civil society organizations working in this field.

Representatives of organizations of civil society, enjoyed the idea of setting up a National Plan for Human Rights and took the opportunity to to discuss with the Minister, some issues concerning the violation of human rights in the department of Grand Anse including cases of rape and child trafficking.

These consultations will continue in other departments of the country.
