Monday at the Primature, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, presided over an important planning meeting for the 10th edition of the outreach program and dialogue with the population "Gouvènman an lakay ou" to be held, Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, to La Gonâve.

"The Government is going to meet the gonâvienne population, community based organizations and local authorities. This is a first in the history of the island [...] We have a deep and sustained attention for the inhabitants of La Gonâve, where we implemented a Special Development Plan of the island, which includes road infrastructures, urban, health, educational, sporting, agricultural and social assistance programs," declared the Head of Government https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11999-haiti-politic-special-plan-new-commitments-for-the-island-of-la-gonave.html

Recalling that this Special Plan, consists of a set of actions with immediate effect in the medium and long termdesigned as part of the fight against extreme poverty, economic and social development and sustainable transformation of the living conditions of the population of the island. Several infrastructure works and projects are already running in La Gonâve, such as: road segments, playgrounds, health centers, support to fishermen, for local production, agricultural development.

On the eve of this dialogue, the Head of Government, accompanied by several of his ministers, will conduct an inspection and of evaluation of the projects, as part of the Special Plan in place in favor of populations of island and take the opportunity to inquire about the grievances of the population.

After La Gonâve, it will be the turn of the commune of Côtes-de-Fer to host the Government, for a dialogue around the situation in order to find appropriate responses. Note that 68% of commitments took during the 9 previous editions, including the one of Miami of "Gouvènman an lakay ou" program have been to date met.
