Haiti - Politic : Michaëlle Jean is committed to the Francophonie of twenty-first century
Candidate for Secretary-General of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), Michaëlle Jean, the UNESCO Special Envoy to Haiti, advocates for a Francophonie at the service and listening to young people and women, carried by the universal values that are the solidarity, democracy, peace, justice, human rights, freedom and good governance.

According to Michaëlle Jean, the future of the Francophonie also goes by robust economic strategy that combines, among other things, increased trade, the strengthening of the production capacity and a greater sharing networks. Her vision of the economic Francophonie also covers the convergence of different models of development, knowledge transfer and a digital strategy as a engine of development and innovation.

"Economic Francophonie must have at its core a true ethic of sharing. My vision of this economic Francophonie revolves around a catalyst space of wealth creation, prosperity, dynamic arrangements, targeted investment, job quality, efficient and innovative enterprises that respect the environment. It must also ensure that the human is always the main concern," affirmed Ms. Jean.

In her plea, Ms. Jean also pays particular attention to greater democratization of education and intensification of the teaching of French language. According to her, French language is a valuable tool for development, diplomacy and economic integration. She also encourages all partners and operators of the Francophonie to intensify the creation and development of more modern teaching methods to facilitate learning French at an early age.

Michaëlle Jean continues its tour among the countries of the Francophonie, from 9 to 18 September, she will travel to Switzerland, France, Tunisia and Chad to meet with political authorities and representatives of civil society, including the academic community to exchange and share with them her vision of the Francophonie.
