Haiti - Health : Inauguration of 2 Health Centers in Seguin and Gaillard

Monday, the First Lady, Sophia Martelly and Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume, Minister of Public Health and Population, participated in the inauguration of two health centers in the department of South-East to Seguin neighborhood of Fond Jean-Noël, a communal section of Marigot and Gaillard, 2nd communal section of Cayes-Jacmel.

Both ceremonies were held in the presence of Dr. Guito Jean Pierre, President of the Haitian Red Cross, Jose Garcia-Lozano, Representative of the Canadian Red Cross, Dr. Ted Lazzarre, Departmental Health Director South East , the Departmental Delegate of the Southeast and the Mayors of the two cities.

Sophia Martelly believes that there is still much to do, but she says with pride that the Martelly administration has many achievements to its credit which today allows the population of several zones to have access to medical care "We walk big step towards the realization of this dream that caresses the Martelly administration to have a health center in each communal section."

For her part, the Minister Guillaume, thanked the partners for their technical and financial support and took the opportunity to launch an appeal to parents in the community of Gaillard to use family planning services.

At the end of the ceremony, Sophia Martelly, welcomed and thanked Jean C.Mercredi, a notable of Gaillard, who donated the land housing the Health Centre and appealed to other citizens, to invest in their communities.
