Haiti - Politic : Development of Haiti, the Rev. Jesse Jackson alongside President Martelly

Wednesday, on the sidelines of his participation in the 69th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the President Michel Martelly, met with human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the United States, Rev. Pastor Jesse Jackson.

The two men spoke in particular of the situation in Haiti four years after the earthquake that mourning hundreds of thousands of families and deeply affected economy.

Pastor Jackson, who acknowledged the efforts of the Martelly administration to get the country out of the abyss, took the opportunity to invite Haitians living abroad to contribute to national development, and to invest in the national reconstruction. He also promised to encourage investors from around the world, looking at the side of Haiti and invited the Head of State to a Investment conference in New York in January 2015.

President Martelly thanked Pastor Jackson for his unwavering support for the Haitian people. He officially invited him to visit Haiti soon, an invitation accepted by the Reverend Jesse Jackson.
