Haiti - Economy : Launch of Haitian coffee «Towo» in Florida
Thursday, the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, in collaboration with the company Geo Wiener S.A. proceeded to Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami, to the official launch of coffee "Towo Suprême" cultivated, roasted and packaged in Haiti by Geo Wiener S.A. which will be sold in six shops of the Walmart chain in South Florida (Miami Gardens, Miami Beach, Miramar, Lake Park, Tampa and Kendall)

The ceremony was an opportunity to present to the public this Haitian coffee and to educate consumers on the efforts of businesses in Haiti to provide quality products that meet international health standards.

Stéphane Gilles, the Head of Mission of the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, who was in New York to attend the 69th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, delivered a message for the occasion, in which he notes the many benefits available now for Haitian businesses by introducing Towo coffee on the American market.

According to Mr. Gilles, marketing Towo coffee, for the moment in Florida, "is in right in line with the policy of the Administration Martelly and of Lamothe government to open the country to both local and foreign investment."

According to the Consul "this event far from trivial, will serve as an incentive to Haitian entrepreneurs to improve their production in preparation to the conquest of new markets in the region, including that of the United States of America."
