Haiti - Politic : Fruitful meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission Haiti-Mexico

Wednesday, Duly Brutus, the Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs co-chaired, in Mexico, with his Mexican Counterpart, Jose Antonio Meade Kuribena the working session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission Haiti-Mexico.

In their Intervention the two Chancellors have emphasized on the determination of their Governments to work towards strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two States for 25 years.

The Chancellor Meade has placed emphasis on the need that the Haitian and Mexican authorities, take without delay the necessary measures to strengthen the legal framework for bilateral cooperation to create the conditions for cooperation in areas of common interest, of development of business relations and increased trade flows between the two states.

Following this meeting, the two Chancellor signed a joint statement, that confirms bilateral commitments for six projects in the areas of economic development, agriculture and the environment, having been the subject of consensus between the two countries in the course of the preparatory technical meeting held on 6 and 7 October.

Four other cooperation projects, whose three relate to education sector, will be the subject of consultations between the Ministries of Educations of both countries and will eventually be adopted in the next two months, to be implemented in 2015.
