Haiti - Education : Inauguration of Lycée Jean-Marie Vincent (Tabarre)
Tuesday, Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education has proceeded to the inauguration of the new buildings of the Lycée Jean-Marie Vincent in Tabarre, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, President of the Islamic Development Bank, which contributed to the financing of the reconstruction works of the Lycée, through the NGO "Islamic Relief Worldwide".

The ceremony was attended by the Director General, Deputy Director General, Departmental Director of the Ministry, of members of the Municipal Board of Croix-des-Bouquets, representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Raja Rizwan Ashfaq, head of mission in Haiti for "Islamic Relief Worlwide", and the Director of the educational institution and students.

Equipped in particular with 20 classrooms whose 16 newly constructed, a conference room, a computer lab, office space, a secretariat, a censorship, library and playgrounds, the Lycée Jean-Marie Vincent is built in compliance with the most strictest building standards.

Recall that four schools have been rebuilt or rehabilitated in the town of Croix-des-Bouquets, following a donation of about 4 million dollars from the IDB. These are the Lycée Jacques 1erImmaculate Conception School, National School Charlotin Marcadieu and Lycée Jean-Marie Vincent, who received the highest sum.

Thanking the IDB for its support, the Minister Manigat welcomed the contribution of the Islamic Development Bank, which has enabled the Ministry to provide a better learning environment for thousands of students.

In his speech, the Minister also assured the students of the continuity of efforts made by his Ministry to rebuild the education system in the interest of all Haitian children. He took the opportunity to announce the launch of the "Concept lycée 2.0", a type of lycée that is on the cutting edge of technology and who offers all the amenities for the smooth conduct of the teaching-learning process.

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, said that education is a priority and has reiterated the commitment of his philanthropic institution to continue to support the education sector in Haiti.

During discussions with officials of the Ministry, the President of the IDB, as part of the ongoing cooperation with Haiti in the field of education, has confirmed its support for the construction of a 5th school.
