Haiti - Politic : Registering the diaspora in the National Registry of Identification

The Consul Stéphane Gilles of the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami had a fruitful meeting with Jean Baptiste Saint-Cyr, the Director General of the National Identification Office (ONI).

The two men have addressed the registration mechanism of Haitians living in the diaspora, particularly those living in South Florida. The Government's objective is to enable the Haitian Diaspora to participate in the upcoming elections and their inclusion in the National Register of identification is a necessary step, pending the adoption of a law that materialized this dream so dear to the Head of State.

On November 5 at a press conference, the two men will report to the population, of the steps already taken and the next steps that should lead quickly to the starting of the recording process.
