Haiti - Security : The Dominican military captured 78 Haitians who crossed the border
The Haitian flow, entering the Dominican Republic, all along the border line, continues day and night, forcing the Dominican military forces to strengthen their monitoring and multiply the returns. Thursday in San Juan de la Maguana, two groups of Haitian origin, totaling 78 people, including 72 men, 5 women and a girl were arrested.

Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Brigade of the Dominican army arrested a first group of 59 Haitians (53 men, five women and a girl) who was traveling aboard a truck Daihatsu red. Two men, identified as Camilo Garabito Lebrón and Mayrobi Suero Ramírez of Dominican origin, that would be responsible for this illegal transit were arrested and are under investigation.

Another group of 19 illegal immigrants from Haiti, was arrested during the same day.

Those arrested were handed over to immigration authorities in Dajabón, to be sent back to Haiti immediately. Brigadier General Felipe Henríquez Molina, Commander of the 3rd Brigade, based in San Juan de la Maguana, said military forces in the region, working tirelessly to prevent the illegal entry of immigrants.

Since last September, surveillance operations at the border have increased dramatically in front of the constant flow of Haitians, which believing false rumors are convinced of being able to acquire their residence upon their arrival at the Centers for Regularization of Foreigners, what of course, is an illusion...
