Haiti - Politic : 31st International Day of the Creole language and culture

Tuesday, 31st International Day of the Creole language and culture, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, has renewed its commitment through state structures established to promote the native language and to give it the place it deserves in public governance.

The Head of Government reiterated its commitment to strengthen the teaching of Creole in our educational system and its use, especially in the teaching of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (secondary and higher) recalling that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in April 2013 between the Government of Haiti and the University of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8358-haiti-education-official-visit-of-laurent-lamothe-and-vanneur-pierre-in-usa.html and that the law on the organization and functioning of the Academy of Haitian Creole, was published on 7 April.
