Haiti - NOTICE : 2 months of power cuts planned

The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) informs to its customers in particular and the population in general, that as part of the rehabilitation of six distribution circuits currently underway in the metropolitan area, power cuts scheduled from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm will be recorded in various parts of the city every day of the week from this Thursday, October 30 until the end of December 2014.

In order to offer better service to its customers, EDH undertook rehabilitation work on different distribution circuits in the metropolitan area. Therefore, residents of circuits of : Haut delmas, Route Fragneau ville, Silot, Village Uldeca, Rue Faustin 1er, Delmas 83, Jacquet toto, Puits Blain, Route de Delmas (from 33 to 73), Delmas 32, Delmas 40B, Delmas 49, Delmas 65 and 71, Martissant, Rue des Magasins de l’Etat, Avenue Bolosse, Habitation Leclerc, Fontamara, Bizoton, Diquini, Rue Barreau, Martissant 25 , Marine Haïtienne, Rue Pavée, Downtown Port-au-Prince, Rue Cameau, Village Letènel, Usine Joseph Janvier, Mariani, Merger-Gressier, Léogane, Darbonne, Dufort, to mention only those ones, will be deprived of electricity from this Thursday, October 30 and according to the schedule indicated.

LAST MINUTE :

On Wednesday, the General Secretariat of the Presidency informs us that in order to better meet the expectations of the population, the President Michel Martelly, proceeded to the appointment of Jean Marcel Pinard as new Director General, in replacement of Jean Hérold Morose(which is said to suffer from depression) andDaniel Accede, as Deputy Director General in charge of the EDH reform. Mr Dukens Raphaël, recently appointed Deputy Director General of the EDH keeps its function within the institution. Note that Jean Marcel Pinard is the third DG to be appointed at the head of the EDH since the accession to power of President Martelly.
