The Embassy of Japan inaugurated the new locals of the Dispensary of Baudin, 6th communal section of Grand-Goâve. This project of an amount of 54.323 dollars enters within the framework of the programme of "aid in the form of donations to Micro-Projects locals contributing to Human Security" (APL) of the Japanese government.

This project has been funded to accompany the NGO "Médecins du Monde Suisse" in Haiti, whose objective is to promote access to quality health care to the population of the remote town of Grand-Goâve and to serve segments of the population most vulnerable, ie, children under 5 years, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

This project has provided through the operation of the Dispensary of Baudin : power system (battery and inverter), materiel administrative, storage cabinets medicine, orthopedic plates, weighing scales, an autoclave for the sterilization of instruments, folding stretchers, beds.

The structures which were established and/or renovated are: pharmacy, inpatient ward, a delivery room, two consulting rooms, a waiting room, an archive room, a nutrition to accommodate the children, a latrine, a shower for the patients and a water tank.

Through its program APL, Japan continues to support efforts to improve basic needs of the population. It provides flexible financial support to NGOs and humanitarian organizations to help implement local development projects.
