Haiti - Politic : The Opposition parties refuse to meet with President Martelly 08/11/2014 12:14:22
Following the invitation of President Martelly, sent on November 5 to Maryse Narcisse of Fanmi Lavalas, Levaillant Louis-Jeune of the platform INITE, Jean André Victor of MOPOD, Jonas Coffy of the party "Ayisyen pou Ayiti", Edmonde Supplice Bauzile of the Fusion and the Senator Jean William Jeanty of "Kontra Pèp La" for a consultation meeting on November 12 in order to find a solution to the pre-electoral crisis, the opposition parties have decided they will not respond to this invitation, once more... Friday, the leaders of these political parties, adopted a resolution in which they say they do not want to hear about consultation or dialogue on only the pre-electoral crisis, but they continue to demand negotiations https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12235-haiti-politic-the-opposition-continues-to-increase-the-prerequisites.html . According to our sources, the resolution was signed by 5 of the 6 parties with the exception of Fanmi Lavalas. Sticking to their position, they want negotiations on all points of the current situation of the country, including the resignation of the Head of State. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12151-haiti-elections-mirlande-manigat-and-mopod-want-to-negotiate-everything-including-the-resignation-of-martelly.html Yet, Friday, Pastor Sylvain Exantus, President of the Protestant Federation of Haiti who met the Head of State in the context of these consultations, had reported seeing "a good disposition" in the attitude of the Executive to meet the six political parties of the opposition (linked to the 6 Senators of the G6).
