The Consul Stéphane Gilles, Head of Mission of the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, Jean Baptiste Saint-Cyr and Rock Gilbert Biamby, respectively Director General and Deputy General Director of the National Identification Office (ONI), took stock at a recent press conference in Florida on the progress of the administration Martelly-Lamothe for the inclusion of the Haitian diaspora in the electoral process.

They clearly detailed the process and talked about a list of potential voters, to be developed in the perspective of the next electoral contests. They also highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) and the Ministry of Tourism to identify all members of the Haitian diaspora.

Given the interest of the diaspora to obtain a National Identification Card (CIN), Jean Baptiste Saint-Cyr explained that his institution does not conceive card using declaration. According to him, the citizen must submit a document proving his Haitian citizenship: birth certificate, extract archive, license or other.

The Consul Gilles called our compatriots who have problems with birth certificate, to visit Haiti's consular offices to obtain the extract archives.
