Haiti - Tourism : A new hotel in Cayes-Jacmel

On Tuesday, Mrs. Dithny Joan Raton, the Departmental Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) of Southeast, met with Mrs. Walna Michel Allen, owner of "Zion Beach Front Hotel" a tourist facility under construction located in Cayes-Jacmel.

Ms. Allen explained the state of progress of her hotel as well as constraints encountered. Located opposite the beach Raymond-les-Bains, Hotel Zion will have a capacity of 24 rooms, conference room, game room, restaurant, boutique, spa and a boat trip service. Once completed, this new hotel will contribute to the development of tourism of Cayes-Jacmel and to the improvement of reception capacity in the region.

The Director of Tourism took the opportunity to present the Hotel Classification Guide Hisbicus, produced in collaboration with the Corporation of the Quebec Tourism Industry (CITQ) and outline the next phase of the development project of Raymond-les-Bains which will include among others: the delimitation of traffic and parking areas; of suitable reception facilities and site monitoring; sanitation; infrastructure (road, water); creation of a public space on the waterfront (unhealthy shacks razed and rebuilt) toilet blocks, showers, store, host, benches...) arrangements of public spaces in relation to the shops.
