Haiti - Education: A deep approach aimed at reforming the education system

Wednesday at El Rancho, Nesmy Manigat, the Miinistre of Education (MENFP) in the presence of Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and the education sector organizations, proceed at the installation ceremony of the members of the Commission national of the curriculum reform, an opportunity for the Head of Government to reaffirm its commitment to quality education for the benefit of Haitian youth.

According to Laurent Lamothe, the creation of this Commission is partipating in the determination of his Government to focus on the quality of education, that could contribute to make Haiti an emerging country by 2030. It took the opportunity to recall the efforts already made by the Martelly administration to mahe of the access and quality of education a priority in particular by the free education of 1.4 million children, the wage increase of 30% to 60% for 27,000 teachers.

He also recalled the recently convocation by the President Martelly forum on the quality of education that enabled the establishment of this Commission, composed of 27 members from various vital sectors of the country, whose mission is to produce, for MENFP, recommendations to improve the quality of education.

Nesmy Manigat, for his part, registered the work to be performed by the commission, in a deep approach aimed at reforming the education system for the benefit of son and daughters of Haiti over the next thirty years, emphasizing that this initiative, which marks a turning in the fulfillment of campaign promises of the Head of State in the education sector, reflecting the will of the Government to make the curriculum reform a national issue.
