Haiti - Politic : Political leadership of women, end of the first training cycle

Sunday at El Rancho in the presence of diplomats, government officials, parliamentarians and representatives of political parties, ended the first training cycle on the political leadership of women. This training session was organized for young activists of political parties of the ten departments of the country that took part in the "Academy of Political Leadership", a development program and capacity building of women in political parties implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This program targeted women wishing to participate in the upcoming elections as candidates, candidates in training or campaign organizers and activists.

During this training, which began on October 9, the young participants learned many techniques that they certainly have the opportunity to practice in the forthcoming elections. This training has provided them with strategic tools to enroll more women in their respective parties. Note that the curriculum was developed in consultation with political parties partners of the program

The initiators of this training are convinced that "Through their involvement in the politics of their country, the concept of Haitian women Poto Mitan, will come out of the small framework of the home to become a social and political reality. Their commitment will also significantly reduce the number of women victims of domestic violence."
