Haiti - Education : 9,307 candidates expected to the exams of permanent bac
The session of exams of permanent bac, organized for candidates that failed to the baccalaureate second part (Philo), will be held as scheduled throughout the ten academic departments, from 15 to 18 December 2014.

A total of 9,307 candidates are expected to attend the exams whose 5,120 came from the West, or 55.01%. The North follows in second place with an effective of 999 candidates, or 10.73%, followed by the Artibonite with 876 candidates, or 9.41%. The lower effective come from Grand'Anse with 128 candidates.

344 correctors (186 West, Southeast and Center, 56 South, Grand Anse and Nippes, 48 Northwest and Artibonite and 54 North and Northeast) were recruited and trained. They have been grouped by subject in order to encourage more interaction: English and Spanish; Mathematics and Physics; Chemistry and Natural Sciences; Philosophy and Social Sciences. Each group was led by career teachers who participated previously in a training of trainers of trainers.

The objective is to improve the copies correction process in order to safeguard the interests of each candidate, under the principles related to measures and pedagogical evaluation and institutional actions undertaken within the framework of the reform of the education sector.
